Warm Colour Palettes for Welcoming Homes
Warm palettes are having a moment, and for good reason: earthy tones make rooms feel lived-in and welcoming without being loud.
Build From A Neutral Base
Start with warm whites or sand on the walls, then add terracotta, ochre or rust through cushions, rugs and artwork. This keeps the look easy to update.
Add Texture For Depth
Linen, rattan, wool and timber make warm colours richer and stop a neutral room from feeling flat.
- Test paint on large swatches and look at them morning and evening.
- Repeat each accent colour at least three times in a room.
The 60-30-10 Rule
Use your main colour on about 60% of the room, a secondary colour on 30% and an accent on the final 10% for a balanced scheme.
If you are unsure where to start, our designers can build a palette around a piece you already love.
